Southwest Lower Peninsula

Muskegon: Boat anglers reported fair numbers of salmon 65 to 110 feet down in 90 to 150 feet of water. A white flasher and green fly combination was effective, along with glow spoons and plugs. Pier anglers were unsuccessful targeting salmon due to warm water temperatures.

Grand Haven: Salmon action was good for boat anglers 65 to 100 feet down in 85 to 140 feet of water. Green and white flies were effective. Pier anglers had success catching largemouth bass on drop-shot and Ned rigs. No salmon were reported from the pier by anglers casting spoons.

South Haven: Pier fishing was slow, though a few steelhead were caught by anglers casting spoons. Salmon anglers reported fair fishing, though rough lake conditions kept most boat anglers from reaching the most productive waters which were beyond 120 feet. A few salmon were caught inside 100 feet of water. Yellow perch anglers caught a few quality fish. Fishing remained inconsistent, depths around 45 feet of water had the most success.

St. Joseph: Pier fishing was slow for all species. Boat anglers targeting salmon caught fair numbers of fish, though rough weather conditions made it difficult for boat anglers to reach productive waters. The best bite occurred in around 120 feet of water. Yellow perch anglers reported good catches. Schools moved frequently, but depths around 40 feet of water were most productive.
